A First-Timer's Guide to Bangkok
Getting around
Bangkok's BTS Skytrain and MRT metro are cheap and efficient for main attractions. For everything else, use Grab (Southeast Asia's Uber) or negotiate with tuk-tuk drivers for short trips.
Must-visit temples
Don't miss the Grand Palace and Wat Pho (home of the 46-metre Reclining Buddha). Visit Wat Arun at sunset for stunning riverside views.
Street food essentials
Bangkok is a food lover's paradise. Head to Yaowarat (Chinatown) for seafood, Silom Soi 20 for pad thai, and the old town for mango sticky rice. Budget around 50-100 THB per street meal.
